London As restaurants around the world struggle to survive amid restrictions to stop the spread of COVID-19, one of the biggest global fast food chains Burger King is trying to lend a hand on social media.
The makers of the Whopper have launched a new campaign in the U.K. and France urging people to continue to go out to eat or get takeout, and not just from Burger King. There s Roti King, Sultan s palace, Tayyab s, Eco, Dumplings Legend, Ochi s. There are many great dishes from thousands of restaurants that deserve to be as famous as the Whopper, Burger King UK said on Instagram. Burger King has been praised by customers for announcing that it will use its social media platforms to promote independent restaurants, which have been impacted by Covid-19 restrictions.
The fast food chain took to Twitter last night to explain its decision to temporarily stop promoting items from its own menu.
As part of the #WhopperAndFriends initiative, Burger Kign will give free social media advertising to independent restaurants that have to shut in Tier 3 areas.
Responses to the announcement have gushed about the generous initiative and said they hope more businesses will join in, as restaurants in Tier 3 close their doors unless they can offer takeaway.

Burger King UK tweeted out its latest message supporting small businesses on Monday. In the post, Burger King said it recognizes that smaller businesses will have a harder time surviving as the coronavirus pandemic forces some of the country back into lockdowns.
