Plea for seagull proof bins along Dumbarton waterfront issued

Seagulls are making Dumbarton s waterfront litter problem worse A PLEA for seagull proof bins along Dumbarton’s waterfront has been issued by a Labour councillor who is concerned about the amount of litter there. Labour councillor David McBride is hoping funding can be made available to install more sufficient waste disposal units to help address this problem. Cllr McBride raised questions about these issues at a West Dunbartonshire Council committee meeting last week. He said: “There has been an incredible litter problem in the quay area of Dumbarton. “The bins are simply insufficient, and they are not well suited. There are better bins available that can be seagull proofed but they are more expensive.
