Erratic weather is something we re all used to in the Northland. We all know that one day can be like a perfect, warm summer day and then the next day you re looking for your down jacket. Heck, sometimes that drastic temperature difference happens on the same day with that old phrase we all know too well, colder by the lake .
However, the weather over the past weekend was especially crazy. Saturday, May 22 was nice, warm and humid. It felt like summer had arrived ahead of it s calendar date. Then, Sunday arrived and those shorts were quickly replaced by pants and warm jackets. It seemed everywhere I went I heard Wow, what a difference a day makes! .
If you re heading to Downtown Duluth this week, pay close attention to signage on Superior Street relating to snow removal or you could get ticketed and towed.
The City of Duluth announced that Duluth Maintenance crews will be conducting snow removal this week on Superior Street, with crews expected to be out on Tuesday, January 12, Wednesday, January 13 and Thursday, January 14.
The majority of the work is expected to be done between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. each of those three days, with work beginning on 7th Avenue West then moving to 4th Avenue East over the three days, block by block. Areas impacted will be clearly marked with temporary parking signs. Again, the City notes that all illegally parked cars will be ticketed and towed if necessary.
