Richard L. “Dick” Peterson peacefully shed his physical body Sunday, July 10th, 2022, after a short illness. Dick was born on Monday, September 30th, 1935, to Blanche and Arvid Peterson of Duluth, MN.
James “Jim” Leroy McMann, 83, of Duluth, MN passed away on June 15, 2022 at Viewcrest Nursing Home in Duluth with many of his loving children by his side.
Judith “Judy” Gail Larson, a devoted mother, doting grandmother, loyal friend, animal lover, and remarkable business woman of Duluth, MN passed away peacefully at age 82, on May 24, 2022 at the Benedictine Living Community.
Capt. William M. Pelto, Retired USMC, of Hibbing, formerly of Duluth, was born June 5, 1935, passed away on Nov. 6, 2021, surrounded by his loved ones. He was 86 years young.
Laverne Pearl Waisenen Stone, 97 (when asked, she would always say 59-1/2), passed away in her home of 75 years with her loved ones by her side. She was born in Duluth on March 5th, 1925, to John and Jennie Waisanen. Laverne graduated from Duluth Central in 1943. She was united in marriage to Eugene Stone on May 11th, 1946 in the first Duluth Methodist Church. Laverne started her secretarial career at an early age for Kemp Fishery. She later moved to Western Union where she worked for 10 years. While there she earned numerous Secretary of the Year awards. She also helped coordinate many telegraph messages to and from the boys at war. She then moved her attention to owning and operating EE Stone Trucking with Eugene. Laverne was known for her welcoming home to friends and neighbors, but especially to family. She also took much joy in organizing her annual class reunion. She is survived by daughter Deb Stone, son Arthur (Collette) Stone. Grandchildren Eric (Mandy) Stone, Brandon (Tracy)
