Alexandria to receive new COVID grant More than $2.24 million was distributed to Minnesota cities through the COVID Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act. The amount was based on the city’s 2021 total municipal state aid allocation. The money will be available after July 1. New 53-unit apartment building proposed in Alexandria Alexandria City Council tables zoning request for development that would be along the west side of North Nokomis near the intersection with Green Lane. Written By: Al Edenloff | A 53-unit multiple family apartment building is proposed in Alexandria. At its meeting Monday night, the Alexandria City Council tabled issuing a conditional use permit to Meadow Homes, LLC, on the west side of North Nokomis/County Road 44 near the intersection with Green Lane, west of 12 existing townhomes. City Planner Mike Weber recommended the council to table the permit until the conditional use permit and a replat or final plat can be approved at the same time.

(Willmar MN-) Duininck Concrete announced the acquisition of Jay Morrell Enterprises (JME) assets and operations located in Alexandria, Morris, Wadena, New London and Hutchinson, effective December 22. The acquisition represents a joining of two multi-generational, family-owned businesses with an expanded market footprint and capabilities. JME Founder, Jay Morrell, led the family business for over thirty years.
