PHILMONT, N.Y. â Six suspects have been charged in what authorities say was a drug trafficking ring in Columbia County.
The arrests were made on Wednesday, Dec. 16, by members of the New York State Police Violent Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Team (VGNET). The following suspects have been charged:
⢠Duhamel Johnson, 29, of Philmont, charged with conspiracy, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, tampering with physical evidence, and criminal facilitation, all felonies.

⢠Jamar Johnson, 42, of Greenport, charged with conspiracy and possession of a controlled substance, both felonies, and with possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.

CLAVERACK â Six suspects allegedly involved in a Columbia County drug trafficking ring were arraigned Wednesday afternoon in Claverack Town Court, State Police Troop K Public Information Officer Aaron Hicks said Thursday.
Following a lengthy investigation, the six were taken into custody by the state police Violent Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Team before their arraignment.
Duhamel Johnson, 29, of Philmont, was charged with second-degree conspiracy, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, all class B felonies; tampering with physical evidence, a class E felony; and second-degree criminal facilitation, a class C felony.
