Fundraising bid for life-saving defibrillators in Halesowen

A de-fib will be installed on The Swan pub on Long Lane. Pic: Google AN APPEAL to raise £1.7k to kick off a bid to install life-saving defibrillators across Halesowen North has been started. The Swan pub on Long Lane has agreed to have a defib after being contacted by campaigner and fireman Stuart Henley, who has started the appeal. Defibrillators are put on the outside of buildings. To use the defib people must call 999 when they are given a code to open it and instructions on how to use it. The code changes each time it is used. A defibrillator is on the wall of the pub Picks on Halesowen High Street after fundraising on the Facebook page Halesowen Times - Take Two.

Woman taken to hospital after two-car crash in Upper Gornal

The incident happened at the junction of Jews Lane and Eve Lane just before 1.30pm. West Midlands Ambulance Service sent two ambulances and a paramedic officer to the scene after being alerted at 1.27pm and a spokesman for the service said: On arrival we discovered three patients. One woman was taken to Russell’s Hall Hospital after receiving treatment at the scene for an injury not believed to be serious. A further woman and a man were discharged at the scene. Police and fire crews also attended. A spokesman for West Midlands Fire Service said crews were called out at 1.17pm and added: A fire engine, a Brigade Response Vehicle and eight firefighters from Dudley Fire Station attended the scene in around two minutes.

Firefighters rescue cat stuck up tree in Laurel Road, Dudley

Pic: Dudley Fire twitter A CAT which had been stuck up a tree in Dudley for 48 hours was rescued by firefighters. The moggie was stuck up a tree in Laurel Road - his worried owners couldn t to get him down so called in the fire service. Firefighters David Antcliff and Adam Wright from Dudley Fire Station stepped in and rescued the cat using ladders at around 11am this morning (Wednesday December 16).   Firefighter Antcliff, of Green Watch, said: It was a bit of a game. He was a bit bitey and scratchy but we put up with that and we managed to get him down.

Former UKIP councillor and community campaigner Stuart Henley joins the Conservative Party

Stuart Henley, who was the driving force behind getting the Shell reinstated in Shell Corner, Halesowen, will campaign for the Halesowen North Conservative team. Firefighter Stuart, who was UKIP councillor for Halesowen North until 2018, stood in the 2017 general election for UKIP. He has lived on the Halesowen North patch for 25 years and has been a firefighter for 22 years. Halesowen North councillor Joe Roberts and James Morris MP said they were delighted to welcome local campaigner Stuart Henley to the Halesowen North Conservative Team.
