Tigers Upend No. 24 Furman in Exhilarating 4-3 Fashion

CLEMSON, S.C. – Dani Medvedeva prevailed in a three-set war on Court 4 to clinch the match for Clemson 4-3 over No. 24 Furman on Saturday afternoon. The victory is the highest-ranked win in Head Coach Christy Lynch’s tenure, and the No. 72 Tigers improved to 9-8 after their thrilling upset over the Paladins.  After dropping the doubles point, Clemson immediately proved it would not go down quietly, as Jenna Thompson quickly leveled the score at one apiece with a 6-2, 6-4 win on Court 3. Furman looked to put the Tigers away by taking a 3-1 advantage, however Eleni Louka and Samantha Buyckx had other plans. Louka won her first set 6-3, and went on to clinch Court 2 in the second set thanks to a tiebreak win. Buyckx quickly followed, taking her Court 6 match by a 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 final.  Once again, the match came down to Court 4, where Medvedeva battled back from down 2-6, 4-5 to force a third set after breaking match point. The Sophomore transfer took a 5-3 lead in the decisive set,
