Gardai arrested two people in Cork this afternoon but neither were arrested in relation to the protest itself. Numerous videos were posted to social media showing gardai arresting a street performer on Patrick Street in Cork earlier today. Gardai said the man was not involved in the protest but was arrested for breaching Covid guidelines. “Gardaí arrested a man in the Patrick Street area of Cork earlier today, 06/03/2021, for breaches of the Health Act 1947, as amended,” gardai said in a statement. Gardaí implemented the 4 E s (engage, educate, encourage and as a last resort enforce),” a garda spokesperson said. The man was arrested and taken to Anglesea Street Garda Station.
