It was indeed a proud moment when Malayalam film Jallikattu, directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery, was selected as India’s official entry to Oscars 2021. Jallikattu was supposed to compete in the Best International Feature Film category. Unfortunately, on February 10, it was announced that Jallikattu didn’t make it to the final nomination.
The official Indian entry in the Best Foreign Film category, Jallikattu, might be out of the Oscar race, but there is still a chance for an Indian film to shine at the upcoming 93rd Academy Awards.
