Substances thought to be heroin and ecstasy, as well as amphetamines, were found, ready to be trafficked.

Police find fridge, freezer stuffed with drugs worth some €420,000

The police arrested four men after they found a fridge and a chest freezer stuffed with drugs being carried on a van in Floriana late on Monday. In a statement on Tuesday, the police said that after weeks of surveillance, officers from the Drugs Squad assisted by the Rapid Intervention Unit stopped, surrounded and searched the van and found 20 packets of suspected cannabis hidden in the sealed fridge and chest freezer. The operation continued in St Paul s Bay, and another packet with more suspected drugs was found in a residence. A 47-year-old man from Senglea and three Italian men aged 23, 29 and 32 were arrested.

Two men arrested after drug finds

Two men have been arrested by the police following drug finds on Saturday. The police said on Sunday that officers from its Rapid Intervention Union saw the men acting in a suspicious manner at Spencer Garden in Marsa at around 7pm. As the police approached the men, they saw one of them hiding something. Following a search, the 37-year-old from Niger who lives in Marsascala was found carrying 10 sachets of what the police suspect is cocaine that was ready for trafficking. The other man, a 24-year-old from Nigeria, was carrying what the police suspect is cannabis. Both men were taken to the police headquarters in Floriana. The Drugs Squad and district police are investigating.

New Drugs Squad at Jersey Police | Channel

play-icon Jersey s police force has re-introduced a Drugs Squad. The team of eight officers will focus on drug investigations that have a serious impact on the community. Also joining the new Drugs Squad is Jack the springer spaniel detection dog, who is trained to find drugs, cash and guns. They will work with Jersey Customs and Immigration Service and the Community Policing Team to disrupt organised crime groups. Although the team won t always exclusively deal with drug offences, and will also work on other tasking and deployment, should it be required, their primary focus will be on Operation Shark and Operation Lion, both of which have already resulted in drug seizures and convictions.
