The case originated in a case pertaining to the arrest of a Rajasthan-based lawyer Sumer Singh Rajpurohit in 1996 by the Basankantha Police following alleged recovery of drugs from his hotel room in Palanpur.
According to ASI Sandeep who conducted the raid in August, 512 grams of amphetamine was found in a package at an Udyog Vihar courier company with an address in Israel’s Ramat Gan in Tel Aviv.
