A 32-year-old alleged drug suspect was arrested by SAPS Butterworth members while conducting operations in the CBD and Skiti informal settlement.
Stop and searches and the searching of drugs formed part of the operations. A shack in Skiti informal settlement was searched and 17 mandrax tablets, 6 tik straws and several pieces of mandrax tablets were found.
The suspect was arrested and detained for possession of drugs. He is expected to appear in court today, 25 May 2021
On Friday, 14 May 2021 Hawks members from the Durban Serious Organised Crime Investigation working together with Crime Intelligence, National Intervention Unit, Public Order Police, and Durban Metro K9 Unit arrested a 32-year-old suspect for dealing and possession of drugs in Phoenix.
Members received information about drug dealing activities that were happening at Warehan Place in Phoenix. An undercover operation was conducted and police proceeded to the said premises. Upon searching the house, 5034 heroin capsules to the street value of approximately R45 000-00 were found.
The suspect was immediately placed under arrest and charged accordingly. He is expected to appear in the Verulam Magistrates’ Court today.
Roodepan Crime Prevention and Crime Intelligence received information about a drug house in Kanana Roodepan. The house was put under surveillance. A Warrant of Search was applied for and the house was successfully searched.
During the search, police found about Hundred and twenty-eight (128 ) bankies of Tik , Twenty-nine (29) ice packs Tik, Eleven (11) full tablets, five (5) halves, and four (4) quarters of Mandrax tablets. One (1) packet of Cat and an undisclosed amount of cash. The total estimated street value of the drugs is R300 000-00 (Three hundred thousand Rand).
The 41-year-old woman is charged with dealing with drugs and will appear before the Galeshewe court soon.
OR Tambo District Provincial Stock theft Operation yielded good success when two suspects were arrested by East London Public Order Police members at Ngangelizwe Location, Mthatha yesterday, 07 March 2021.
Members were conducting stop and search at Ngangelizwe when they received intelligence-driven information about the two suspects who were allegedly transporting crystal meth (tik).
Police located the vehicle, fitting the description, driving down Tutor Ndamase Avenue. The vehicle was stopped and searched. Police found drugs 1.3 kg Crystal meth (Tik) with an estimated value of +-R50 000-00 packed in plastic bags.
Both suspects were arrested and are expected to appear in court soon facing charges of possession/dealing in drugs.
