FLAGLER BEACH City officials Wednesday unanimously approved William Whitson as Flagler Beach s new city manager during a special meeting. The decision came down to Whitson and Dru Driscoll, who has served as deputy city manager for Daytona Beach since February 2019. Whitson has experience in all levels of local government, and served as assistant city manager for the city of Port Orange from 1998 to 2006. He s worked in coastal Florida communities such as Milton, Pensacola, Panama City and Port Orange.
