When Netflix’s eclectic animated sci-fi anthology series
Love Death & Robots returns on Friday, it will unleash a new set of eight startling visions that recall anthology magazines like
Heavy Metal in terms of well-rendered worlds and intense short subjects. It is a different style of series for the service, which tends to support serialized storytelling, so if you happen upon the program while browsing Netflix this weekend, you may wonder what the program is all about.

Eight shorts. Eight animation styles. Thirteen directors. Eighty-two minutes. That is all it takes to enjoy

Created by Deadpool s Tim Miller and produced by David Fincher the first series was a devlish delight. It had 18 R-Rated episodes, each one focusing on one of the title s themes (or sometimes all of the themes together).

This is an update to 50 authors, 50 science fiction stories shorter than novels. It s mostly an addition of 30 more authors (many from outside the big SF names ) but I also made some other tweaks.
I ve been playing around with re-reading favorite science fiction short stories while also seeing if there s anything that has managed to elude me over the years. I ve also tried to catch up with more recent authors given that I don t read as many books as I used to. (The market for science fiction short stories, in general, is in something of a decline but there are still some fabulous recent stories out there.)
