Increased drone intrusions by Pakistani smugglers from across the border have put villages in Punjab on high alert. Border guards have shot down at least 13 drones carrying illicit drugs over the past week. The smugglers used DJI Mavic Classic and DJI Matrice drones. The drones from Pakistan flying in India have once again raised alarm bells. The Intelligence Bureau has sounded an alert that the incidents involving drones may go up in the coming months.
A Pak drone intruded into India from near border pillar number 35 near BSF’s Border out Post Rochae on Monday. As the drone was spotted by the BSF, they fire fired the illuminating rounds to lighten up the area and then fired nine rounds following which the drone fled to Pakistan.
