this video showing their forces destroying a russian helicopter on snake island. how effective can ukrainians be in the black sea considering what we ve seen of the russian maritime resources there, not so many of the ukrainian. well, they have been very successful down there. they knocked out 13 ships now. not just the moskva, but they have knocked out four transport ships. the amphibious capabilities of the russians have been severely degraded. the helicopter knocked out here on snake island is very very key that shows the ukrainians continue to have missile capability, drone capability, intelligence that tells them where they are, and how they can knock them out. and like i said, 13 have been knocked out. it s so important here, this fight, because of course odesa is such a key port. 400 million people throughout the world depend upon the wheat, the corn, the grain products
capabilities. they are going to need this especially with whatever comes out of mariupol. keeping a rush is on its heels. i think it would be significant. all seemed up our inventory of our drone capability i believe it s from an airman standpoint from a senior officer standpoint battlefield commander want more capability. now s a time to provide it. at the same time let me just close we ve got to be careful it is not cloud our judgment needlessly provoking putin. that aside now s the time to stay on the momentum stand solid with president zelenskyy. that is the argument the president lead to something even worse see potential opening may provide the mags as you say.
vital part of counterterrorism operations is the ability to have good intelligence, obviously, on the targets, to be able to deliver whether you re going to bring special forces in by helicopter to rappel down and go after the target or whether you re going to use a drone to take a shot. you ve got to be able to have very accurate intelligence on the targets you re firing at. i hope they ll take the time to look at the steps that are necessary here. cia generally relied a great deal more on intelligence on the ground than the military does. and i think the military, if it s going to use drone capability, i think it s going to have to improve the quality of their intelligence as to the targets they re firing. and i just spoke to secretary mayorkas a few moments ago about
probably doesn t but as phil said, this is not a quick fix kind of thing. remember how long it took to get bin laden. so many factors in this and it is a collage. putting all these different pieces together. the technical piece, the over the horizon piece. all of that makes a big difference. those are the kinds of things that need to come together in order to do this right and we have to do this right. phil, obviously the u.s. military presence will go to 0 basically in the next several days. so, how would that affect the ability for this kind of strike? boy, that is the right question. the intel will be difficult. lit come together. think of two different scenarios. scenario one, the one you had 60, 90 days ago you have in the theater a drone capability, that drone capability is armed. you obviously have u.s. military and airborne power on the ground
some of this does point to the view they have that the iranians are planning for a possible, possible attack against u.s. forces. the pentagon is adamant they are not looking for war, but they are ready to defend themselves if it comes to that. you re also learning that there s concern about iran s drone capability. what are you hearing? this is part of the overall picture of the growing iranian capability in this region and why the pentagon, why the military says there is increased evidence of iranians planning for that possible attack. there is evidence that iranian drones have been improved, that this gives them an ability to put a drone in in sky, get a wide picture of surveillance about what is going on, and that allows them more precision targeting to get a clear picture overhead. they know where their targets are. they can target weapons if it comes to that. all of this adding to the concern that the pentagon has.
