Two bars that have repeatedly violated the temporary shutdown on indoor dine-in service because of COVID-19 now face losing their licenses for five years.
The Minnesota Department of Public Safety announced it is stepping up the action it s taking against Alibi Drinkery in Lakeville and The Interchange in Albert Lea. Both establishments continue to sell or advertise the sale of alcohol for indoor, on-premises consumption in violation of the executive orders, and neither have come into compliance after numerous requests, notifications and court actions, the DPS said.

The State of Minnesota has suspended the license of two bars that opened Wednesday in defiance of the COVID-19 dine-in shutdown, while another is facing a license suspension for opening this past Friday.
Alibi Drinkery in Lakeville and Neighbors on the Rum in Princeton have been served with 60-day liquor license suspensions for blatantly violating Gov. Walz s executive order, according to the Minnesota Department of Public Safety Alcohol and Gambling Enforcement Division (DPS-AGED).

It comes after the Minnesota Department of Public Safety served it with notice that its liquor license will be suspended for 60 days for its blatant violation of Gov. Tim Walz s Executive Order 20-99 shutting down dine-in service until Dec. 18 – which will now be extended to Jan. 11.
