COLUMBIA - Columbia Police are investigating a fatal crash on Range Line Street that left one pedestrian dead on Tuesday night.Â
The crash happened near the intersection of Range Line Street and Big Bear Boulevard. Police were on the scene at around 10:20 p.m. on Tuesday night.Â
According to a press release from CPD, the driver drove southbound on Range Line Street when the pedestrian was lying in the driving lane on the street. The driver attempted to change lanes but hit the pedestrian.Â
The pedestrian has been identified as Jefferson City man Cory Black, 46. Next of kin has been notified.Â
BOONE COUNTY- A head-on collision left one person dead Friday evening.
One driver was identified as Tina Rains of Columbia, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver was identified as Joseph Richards. Richards injuries were described as minor, and he refused medical treatment.
The crash closed down West Route K at South Old Plank Road just after 5 p.m. on Friday, according to Boone County Joint Communications. No thru traffic was allowed.
Columbia Police and Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop F confirmed to a KOMU 8 reporter one person died in the two vehicle crash.

MFA Agri Services has closed five centers across Missouri since 2019, including:Â Bronaugh, Columbia, Essex, Fulton and Springfield.
The land was bought by Scott Rasa, owner and operator of Earthworks Excavation in 2020.
The tower stood in Columbia since the 1960s, where residents say it became a beacon of familiarity around the area.
Jeriel Palmer, who moved to Columbia from Chicago last August, said he used the tower as a beacon to know that he s home.
