Lockdown, let’s be fair, has not been good for the sartorial elegance of the Great British Male. As most of us have been sequestered in places where our appearance has not been of paramount importance, so some men have been found to be walking around in the very worst kind of what used to be called mufti (but probably now isn’t).
Have you had enough of working from home?
When the first lockdown began, the shift to home working was welcomed by many. Although news from the outside world was frightening, the sun shone on our gardens and we didn’t have to dash for the train.
The appeal was clear to many businesses, too, especially with the prospect of cutting costs by selling off office space.
But that was then.
For a sizeable proportion of the workforce, it has now been 10 months since we regularly visited the office. But the catch-all term “working from home” (WFH) captures an array of experiences. In the bleak midwinter, cut off from colleagues and friends, some feel the supposed revolution has lost its already limited allure.

The City has long been a bastion of men’s fashion.
While you may not instantly put Cheapside, Leadenhall and Threadneedle in the same category as Carnaby Street or Camden when it comes to setting fashion trends, since time immemorial the best-dressed businessmen in the world have strutted their stuff in the streets, offices and certainly bars of the City of London.
