Southwest Virginiaâs long-running musical amusement park, FloydFest, is back for another late July run.
FloydFest 21~Odyssey runs Wednesday through July 25, after a year off due to COVID-19. The event, which is operating at reduced capacity even as Virginia restrictions have fallen, is sold out.
Quite a few things have changed in the nearly two years since the last time. As of July 1, cannabis possession was legalized in Virginia, with multiple caveats. Most people spent months wearing masks and practicing physical distancing in public, if they went out at all. And the adult beverage White Claw has established commercial dominance in the seltzer game.

Friday, Craft Restaurant and Artistry, would have had their grand opening celebration. But in the midst of the COVID-19, owner Ashley Gallaher decided to cancelled.Â
On Monday, bars and restaurants in Kentucky were allowed to open back up to 50% capacity for indoor dining.
This re-opening of bars and restaurants comes just short of a month since Gov. Andy Beshear closed indoor dining due to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases.
The curfew for both restaurants and bars to stop serving at 11 p.m. will stay in effect until further notice.
The many openings, closings, and changing of restrictions have been a whirlwind for restaurants and bars as well as the customers who frequent them.
