Netflix s Sandman Cast Revealed: Tom Sturridge, Gwendoline Christie to Star
The drama from DC Comics and creator Neil Gaiman has also enlisted Vivienne Acheampong, Boyd Holbrook, Charles Dance, Asim Chaudhry and Sanjeev Bhaskar.
A year and a half after being picked up to series, Netflix has revealed the cast for its big-budget adaptation of Neil Gaiman s beloved
Tom Sturridge will topline the drama based on Gaiman s DC Comics series, playing Dream, the lord of the dreaming. Gwendoline Christie co-stars as Lucifer, ruler of hell. Vivienne Acheampong, Boyd Holbrook, Charles Dance, Asim Chaudhry and Sanjeev Bhaskar round out the dark fantasy drama.

But instead he mistakenly traps Death’s younger brother Dream, or Morpheus, who is of the seven god-like siblings known as The Endless who oversee aspects of human existence.
Netflix said its series would follow “the people and places affected by Morpheus, the Dream King, as he mends the cosmic and human mistakes he’s made during his vast existence”.
The star-studded cast also includes Charles Dance as Roderick Burgess, a blackmailer and magician, and Vivienne Acheampong as Lucienne, chief librarian and trusted guardian of Dream’s realm.
Boyd Holbrook will play The Corinthian, an escaped nightmare who wishes to taste all that the world has in store.

Sturridge will be playing the Dream King, while Christie has been cast as Lucifer and Dance will be playing Roderick Burgess, described as a charlatan, blackmailer and magician.
“For the last thirty-three years, the Sandman characters have breathed and walked around and talked in my head,” Gaiman said in a statement.

Netflix’s “The Sandman” adaptation has cast Tom Sturridge in the leading role of Dream a.k.a. Morpheus, the streaming service announced Thursday.
Joining Sturridge’s Lord of the Dreaming in the TV series based on Neil Gaiman’s graphic novels are Gwendoline Christie as Lucifer, the ruler of Hell; Vivienne Acheampong as Lucienne, the chief librarian and trusted guardian of Dream’s realm; Boyd Holbrook as The Corinthian, an escaped nightmare who wishes to taste all that the world has in store; Charles Dance as Roderick Burgess, Charlatan, blackmailer and magician; and Asim Chaudhry as Abel and Sanjeev Bhaskar as Cain, the first victim and the first predator, residents and loyal subjects of the Dream Realm.
