The Nebraska-Kearney Lopers’ offense was too much for the Lincoln Blue Tigers to handle Saturday at Jason Gym.
The Lopers scored at least 18 points in every quarter and never trailed, running away with an 84-66 victory against the Blue Tigers in MIAA play.
The Lincoln Blue Tigers dug themselves too deep of a hole to climb out of Thursday night at Jason Gym. Lincoln shot just 4-for-24 (17 percent) in the first half and fell behind by 19 points early in the third quarter before falling short in its comeback bid against the Emporia State Hornets in a 68-62 final in MIAA play.

And the Blue Tigers went out and added three transfers and six freshmen to help complete the puzzle. Now all that’s left is to see how the pieces fit together. Lincoln will get its first opportunity to see how the pieces fit when it opens the season at 7 p.m. today against Arkansas-Monticello in the Central Region Challenge in Mongolia, Ark.
The Lincoln Blue Tiger women’s basketball team has proved it can play with the top half of the MIAA, it just has to prove it can do it consistently for a full 40 minutes.
The Blue Tigers trailed by just four at half against the No. 24 Missouri Southern Lions, but a run to start the second half let the Lions extend their lead and post a 67-58 win in MIAA play Thursday night at Jason Gym.
