Behind me locked in place, the two bodies as far as we know still lying on the tracks about 500 yards behind the train back to the south. Heres what we know so far from bart management. Two employees as you said struck on the tracks a little before 2 p. M. , one mile north of the walnut creek station. The employees were doing Maintenance Work on a reported dip in the tracks and the train was also apparently doing routine Maintenance Work at the time and they say it was being run by an experienced operator with several people on board but they believe it was being controlled by computer when the accident happened. They also say there should have been some sort of warning to both parties that they were both doing work on the tracks before it happened. We have radio transmission of the accident as it happened.
