Dungeons & Dragons Dark Alliance cross-platform on day 1: Xbox, desktop, streaming

Today Dungeons & Dragons Dark Alliance was announced as an Xbox Game Pass game at launch. This means that, all told, the game will launch on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Windows 10 PC, and on every platform supported with Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) through Xbox Game Pass. It’ll all be happening on June 22, 2021 – and it’ll all be cross-platform cross-play on day 1, launch day.
The game has the brand name backing. It’s Dungeons & Dragons – everyone knows the name. It has the graphics, and it has the backing of Wizards of the Coast and Microsoft. It’s developed by the folks at Tuque, and it looks like it could be pretty fantastic. Now all we need is confirmation that it’s going to go the distance.

Baldur s Gate: Dark Alliance was originally released in 2001, and went on to win role playing game of the year from the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences. Out of nowhere the game is getting a 4K re-release tomorrow, May 7. You’ll be able to digitally pick up the game for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
Some of the key features include:
4K scaling on the Xbox or PS4 Pro.
Three race and class combinations. Play as a dwarven fighter (Kromlech), a human archer (Vahn) or an elven sorceress (Adrianna).

It’s been a while since we heard anything about the return of Dungeons & Dragons Dark Alliance. Having been shown off back in 2019, this title from Wizards of the Coast and developer Tuque Games is taking a slightly more methodic spinoff franchise of old in a heavily action-oriented direction.
