Dear Colorado Ag Producers:
We have once again been gifted an opportunity to express how much we value YOU. We commend YOU as those whom we rely on to make sure we have food to eat. We feel an intense sense of pride thinking about our Ag Community, and with good reason. Colorado Department of Agriculture’s magazine Farm Flavor tells us:
“Colorado boasts more than just majestic mountains and outdoor adventures – it’s also an abundant agricultural powerhouse. With 38,900 farms spread across 31.8 million acres, Colorado’s farmers and ranchers work tirelessly to produce commodities for both the state and the nation.
thing for people in the shelters. leaving their pets. but you have to understand in the ag community not far from where you are, outside of wilmington, we have chicken farms and pig farms and sadly during hurricane matthews thousands upon thousands of chicken and pigs drowned. and you ve got environmental issues. so a big, important issue i know all of the leaders are including the current governor and i appreciate all their leadership is that water is very dangerous water, too. very dangerous. not just in volume but it s also very filthy water. how real is the worry as it relates to beach erosion, governor? that s a worry but that s more long term. that s my worry right now is really frankly life and death. and sadly, when i was governor during hurricane matthew, we lost 28 people due to drowning primarily in cars and trying to
aside. i was in iowa and onsin, there are tens of thousands of farmers and folks in the ag community deeply concerned about the president s trade or the protectionism and the tariffs. i was in texas last week, same thing there. good policy, usually, is good politics. well, tariffs are both bad policy and bad politics for this administration. we re going to make our case to the american people and especially to rank and file conservatives and republicans because it is important that they re hearing the other side about the good benefits of free trade, that it brings to people, lower consumer prices and so much more. larry kudlow is now the president s top economic adviser has said very clearly he s not a fan of tariffs. i think the actual quote is tariffs, not my favorite thing. what is your understanding then, what is your understanding then of his role here. we re hoping that he s taking that message and we re confident he is. i heard his comments saying the tariffs are a negotiat
could be, we talked about perhaps it could be months before we start to see any of these tariffs go into place and we saw the effect on the dow law enforcement land mentioned it was down almost 600 points on friday but the president said listen this is a little bit of short term pain for long term gain. your thoughts on that? i can t dispute what we know china is doing to the american economy. in fact the ip commission, elizabeth i just jotted this down before we came to air, 225 billion to 600 billion they estimate annually, the united states economy loses on intellectual property theft alone. the chinese are just ripping the american public off. they re ripping american companies off. something has to be donald outside of this i m not sure what that would be, so it s very very difficult to see how we can continue to allow that kind of money to be sacked from our economy just out right theft. its got to stop. i don t want to see anyone in the ag community or any other business commu
trans-canada abandons the pipeline on the landowners property when they re finished pumping their tar sands through it. if you are an ag community, like nebraska, you rely on your water and clean water. this isn t about red or blue fights. this is about clean or polluted water. that is the basics for our concern in nebraska. it s interesting because you do have sort of the other side of the argument saying that in a lot of ways the keystone fight is symbolic. their environmental reporter. keystone s political symbolism outraids its policies, substance. mr. obama s eventual decision on the pipeline will have a marginal impact on global warming emissions to make serious dent in american carbon emyings. mr. obama s administration would have to enact policy that is force the two most pole outing sectors of the nation s economy cars and coal plants to stature emissions. what do you think about them saying your fight is more symbolic than substantive? you could argue that for the
