The scenery surrounding the Indianapolis Colts changed since we last dove into their roster. The trade for quarterback Carson Wentz has been finalized following the retirement of Philip Rivers; wide receiver T.Y. Hilton is back on a one-year, prove-it deal; and, for general manager Chris Ballard, this group looks primed to compete with the AFC’s best when autumn soon arrives in Indianapolis.
The Colts reloaded following an 11-5 season that saw the breakout debut of power-back Jonathan Taylor and wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. Now, with Wentz now at the helm, there could be a two-team race for the AFC South title with the Tennessee Titans.

The Tennessee Titans are just weeks away from an important draft. An offense that’s led by the talents of Ryan Tannehill, Derrick Henry and A.J. Brown has lost some important secondary pieces this offseason. The departures of Jonnu Smith, Corey Davis and Adam Humphries has left the team incredibly top-heavy on that side of the ball. The signing of Josh Reynolds helps some, but the Titans need more at the receiver position.
At tight end, Anthony Firkser and Geoff Swaim are currently the guys. They offer different skill-sets. Firkser is a glorified receiver that hasn’t done much blocking in Tennessee. On the other hand, Swaim is an excellent run blocker that offers little in the passing game. Both of these positions should be addressed during this month’s draft.
The Broncos did extremely well in free agency at plugging some major holes, which leaves only one
glaring weakness on their roster. Unfortunately, it’s the most important position on the field. Drew Lock hasn’t developed the way that Denver had hoped he would and they absolutely need a top-tier QB to compete in this division with Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. Fields has been a lightning rod in the NFL Draft community recently, but there’s no denying his talent on the football field. With Jerry Jeudy, Noah Fant, Courtland Sutton, KJ Hamler, etc. all in place already, Fields would take this offense over the top. Meanwhile, the Falcons move out of a premium spot and accumulate some valuable draft capital to aid in their rebuild.
