The New York Rangers have just announced the signing of 2018 first round draft pick (28th overall), defenseman Nils Lundkvist.

the Athletic reports that Gerard Gallant met with the Blue Jackets last week via Zoom at the World Championships.

Earlier this week I got a small update on the Rangers coaching search. We know of two interviews that took place, Gerard Gallant and Rick Tocchet with more expected. From what I could gather, there is no urgency on the part of the Rangers to hire a coach. This will be a thorough and detailed process that Chris Drury will follow.

In 2019, the Rangers made their third round selection by taking a U.S. born defenseman Zac Jones. This season for UMASS he’s collected 8 goals and 23 points n 27 games to go with a +16 rating. The 20 year-old defenseman ranks third for all NCAA defensemen with 46 points dating back to last season. Now he’s drawing comparisons by his head coach to none other than Adam Fox.
