THE demolition of an old school building in Bridgwater started last week. Home to Haygrove School since 1973 and Dr Morgan s Grammar School from the 1930s, the building is is being torn down. This is to make way for a landscaped area that will become the main walkway to the new Haygrove School building, the staff car park and home to new tennis and netball courts. Headteacher of the school, Mr Reid, said they are very sad to see the old building disappear. It has been a part of the fabric and history of Bridgwater since 1937 when Dr Morgan’s Grammar School for Boys moved to Durleigh Road from premises on Mount Street, he said.
