LSU Health Doctor Placed on Leave
Another round in the battle going on at LSU Health Shreveport. One of the female doctors who has come forward with allegations against Dr. G.E. Ghali has been placed on administrative leave. This comes after several formal complaints were filed against her.
Attorney Allison Jones says this is nothing more than retaliation against her client, Dr. Jennifer Woerner because she and others filed an Equal Employment Opportunity complaint against Ghali.
Jones issued this statement:
After our press conference last week, where my clients and I spoke out about the egregiously sexist and unjust working conditions perpetrated by Dr. Ghali, unnamed medical residents made dubious complaints against my client,. She is being unfairly targeted in a malicious and retaliatory move that we believe was orchestrated by Dr. Ghali because of her brave involvement in the protected activity of whistleblowing and opposing discrimination both for herself and for protected l
Big medical news today. Dr. G. E. Ghali, chancellor of the LSU medical school in Shreveport is now on administrative leave. This comes just a day after four employees filed an EEOC complaint. The workers claim they have been subjected to sexual harassment at the local facility. There are also complaints about retaliation.
Dr. David Lewis who is the Dean of the Med School will be the acting Chancellor for now.
Dr. Ghali just issued the following statement:
I am proud of our tremendously qualified team that reflects the diversity of the students we serve. We have consistently elevated female voices to positions of power across our campus, and I continue to believe our model should serve as an example for the rest of the LSU system.

LSU Health Shreveport was forced to pause vaccinations due to a lack of supply. However, they will be able to continue providing vaccines thanks to a provision of 975 doses of the Pfizer vaccine by Christus Shreveport-Bossier Health System.
