LEESBURG Leesburg’s Planning and Zoning Commission Thursday will hear two builders’ requests that, if approved, would add a total of more than 500 new homes on the south side of town.
The meeting will be held at 4:30 p.m. at 1 Dozier Court in the new community building at Venetian Gardens.
The P&Z board only makes recommendations, which are later considered for final approval by the Leesburg City Commission. And if the commission agrees to the changes, including annexation, it would extend city utilities and services to the new developments and increase the tax base.
One of the requests comes from Germana Engineering and Associates. It s askingfor a change of zoning from Lake County agriculture to planned unit development on 33 acres on the south side of County Road 48, east of County Road 33.
