Mrs. Gearldine Fanning, age 78, of Hanceville, peacefully passed away Friday evening, December 11, 2020, at her residence.
She was born April 28, 1942, in Cullman County, a daughter of the late William Alexander Young and Dessie Mae Ballard Young.
Gearldine was preceded in death by her sisters Gwen Johns, Elaine Abbott, Nell Jo Jordan, Juanita Blanchard, Milo Lane, Naomi Gunterson and Betty Beasley; and brothers Jimmy Young, Paul Young, Earl Young and WA Young.
Gearldine is survived by her husband of 55 years, Billy Ray Fanning (“Cotton”) and their children; daughter, Sherry Fanning McClure and son in law, Dewayne McClure; and son, Ricky Allen Fanning “Rick”. She is also survived by her brother Doyle Young “DC” (Rose) and her grandchildren Kaylee Hasting, Dean Fanning, MaLeah Hunt, Meagan Yarbrough (Kevin), Warren Fanning, Nathan Fanning, Jonathan Fanning, LeAnn Miller and Josh McClure (Brianna).
