At least 33 large wildfires are now burning in a half a dozen states across the west. In northern california, the fastmoving butte fire has now grown to more than 100 square miles in two days, threatening thousands of homes. Carter evans has the latest. Reporter record heat and strong winds have made what was a small fire in butte county explosive as it bears down on several mountain towns, a local newspaper headline calls the fire unprecedented.
