Barbara Watkins is the executive director at Main Street Morgantown, a nonprofit that aids the historic preservation and economic development of Downtown Morgantown and the Historic Wharf District. She spoke with Trenton Straight, video editor, about the upcoming Spring Arts Walk on April 10, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.Â

us. carl cameron live for us tonight in morgantown. some positive news in the housing market today as we got word home sales are on the rise. then there is the foreclosure fiasco. it s still threatening to put a damper on it all. we will see why some buyers may be a little more reluctant these days to put down any money. remember the case of the girl with the hiccups? remember her? she had hiccups for months. they wouldn t stop all morning. all afternoon, all night. you wake up, you go to bed. the hiccups, the hiccups. she looks a little different today, doesn t she? that s a mugshot. somebody is in lots of trouble. [ j. weissman ] it was 1975. my professor at berkeley asked me if i wanted to change the world. i said sure. well, let s grow some algae. and that s what started it. exxonmobil and synthetic genomi have built a new facility to identify the most productive strains of algae. algae a amazing little critters. they secrete oil, which we could turn into biofuels.
