EVANSVILLE, Ind. CenterPoint Energy Square will be a spectacular addition to Main Street, officials said Wednesday.
The energy company announced a $1 million donation from its foundation to build the park, which is viewed as a part of the larger 5th & Main development project.
Renderings show paved walking paths and an oval-shaped green space, as well as a stage, shade structures, sculpted art and several places to sit.
The park will host the Downtown Farmer s Market and other activities such as live music and yoga, and it will be a recreation spot for Downtown dwellers, workers and visitors, officials said. Creation of green spaces like this are great for communities, said Dave Lesar, CenterPoint Energy CEO.
