CenterState CEO announced it has hired
Monifa A. Wilcox as its vice president of human resources. She has more than 20 years of experience in the human resources field. Most recently, Wilcox served as vice president of human resources at
St. Vincent de Paul
Baltimore, a leading provider of community services to people suffering from the effects of hunger, homelessness, and poverty in the Baltimore region. In that role, and as a member of the organization’s executive committee, she developed the organization’s strategic plan and managed budget development and all functional areas of human resources.

Live music will be at Coleman’s and Sharkey’s on Friday night, there will be cardboard sled races at Skaneateles Ski Hill, and you can be a judge at Ithaca’s Chili Cook-Off.

Delicious Downtown Deals, new Syracuse Stage play, sake tasting: 12 things to do in CNY

While a lot of people’s attention will be focused on Tampa, Florida this weekend for the Super Bowl, there will be a host of fun activities to do before the big game around Central New York.
The “Delicious Downtown Deals” program is underway and Syracuse Stage has a new play dealing with the Los Angeles riots of 1992.
There are also virtual events from the Rosamond Gifford Zoo, the Erie Canal Museum and the Syracuse City Ballet.

Syracuse Downtown Dining Weeks returns, but it’s different this year (of course)

Syracuse, N.Y. Nothing has been “normal” for the Central New York restaurant industry in the past year, and that will hold true for the annual promotion called Syracuse Downtown Dining Weeks.
This year, it’s “Delicious Downtown Deals,” and it will last a whole month (February) instead of the usual two weeks in February. That means it starts today and ends Sunday, Feb. 28. It’s coordinated by the Downtown Committee of Syracuse and Visions Federal Credit Union.
