Downtown at Sundown Now Open to Everyone
The annual downtown Lake Charles event known as Downtown at Sundown was announced a month or so ago. The concert series is known to pack the streets of downtown Lake Charles each year, but was forced to be virtual in 2020 due to the pandemic.
When it was announced this year, it was on the edge of Governor Edwards newest phase. The event was unsure what the capacity would be able to be upon its actual date of May 28. To handle the guidelines, event planners were forced to limit the capacity to 1000 tickets in order to fit in the guidelines.
Live at the Lakefront Music Festival in Lake Charles Is Back
Live at the Lakefront was prepared to have a a concert series last year before the pandemic hit and caused it to be canceled, but the popular music festival is coming back after a year off.
It will take place on Fridays for three consecutive weeks (June 11, June 18, June 25) at the arcade pavilion at the Civic Center in downtown Lake Charles.
The event is put on by the Arts & Humanities Council of Southwest Louisiana and will run from 6:00pm until 10:00pm each night. The festival will feature local bands, live art demonstrations, an outdoor art market, and food truck market.
