The inclusion of tigers at the facility has been controversial from the start; now a new petition is pushing to send the animals to a wildlife sanctuary.
These accredited animal welfare organizations have collectively taken in 192 animals from the now-defunct SeaQuest, following the controversial facility’s closure earlier this month.
The SeaQuest in Littleton closed its doors earlier this month, and the Denver Zoo and Downtown Aquarium have stepped in to care for the animals in need of new homes.
A man injured in a drive-by shooting outside the Downtown Aquarium at 700 Water St. on Wednesday afternoon has died, according to the Denver Police Department.
