FLOOD: Kendal reaches out to twin town in Germany over flooding KENDAL’S Mayor Douglas Rathbone has written a letter of support to his counterpart in the town’s twin community in Germany as it is affected by nearby flooding. The town of Rinteln was twinned with Kendal 29 years ago and has been affected by the current flooding taking place in the country.
