needs city-wide, not just in the central core of san francisco. i am not going to delay this. i actually approve and support these projects. i am a cyclist. i drive a car and use muni. we have to have a full range of projects going forward, but this is something i see all the time. we have a dialogue in san francisco that excludes other parts of san francisco that are needed that are in need of richard transit options in the city richer transit options in the city. supervisor cohen? supervisor cohen: on page four, is this the project includes 500 bikes and 50 kiosks in san francisco. can you give me some kind of indication as to where that is going to be? we can follow up with the sfmta staff member who is in charge of the bike sharing project. supervisor cohen: i am sorry, the person is not here today? he is, but we can provide you a map of the locations we have today. is that correct? [applause] part of the program is dedicated to improvements that will bring benefits to the many muni riders. a key part of that is the mta. during his tenure, the bond was brought to life and successfully passed. it is my pleasure to welcome the director of the mta and former director of dpw. it is like the former director gathering. [laughter] having spent four years doing right of way infrastructure work in san francisco, it is not sexy, it is critically important to the economy and quality of life for those of us in san francisco. this bond will make it easier and safer for people to get around san francisco on foot by improving sidewalks, intersections, better striping, countdown signals it will make it easier and safer for people to get arou
construction activities as soon as possible. they are going to overlap the event authority s occupancy somewhat, but we would like to minimize that. with both of these projects, we are exploring a potential path, and i think we have not arrived at a conclusion on this where our general contractor could secure the supply is, basically piles to rebuild the pier 23 south apron and fabricated railing. and that potentially port maintenance staff would be best qualified to actually do the installation work here. we have several pile rigs. our deputy director of maintenance is here today if you have any questions about the approach, but we think it might be one of the more cost- effective ways to deliver those improvements. next, we have two full removal projects. pier one-half removal. it is a red tag parking lot structure. bcdc has removed the facility as well as some remnant piles. those projects total $1.6 million. that in-water work is work that we would like to get done before
