A 25-year-old man, one of at least 13 victims in a mass shooting in Texas over the weekend, has died of his injuries, Austin authorities said Sunday.
Douglas John Kantor succumbed to gunshot wounds at 12:01 p.m. Sunday as police continued searching for one of two suspects. Authorities believe a dispute between the two sparked the early-morning gun battle, NBC News reported. The second suspect was arrested on Saturday.
The 1:30 a.m. Saturday shooting occurred on a packed street closed to vehicles, Interim Police Chief Joseph Chacon told The Associated Press. The street, the 400 block of E. 6th St., is a popular nightlife destination.
Someone opened fire in a busy entertainment district in downtown Austin early Saturday, wounding 13 people, including two critically, before getting away, authorities said.

Douglas John Kantor, 25, who was hospitalized with critical gunshot wounds following the early Saturday morning shooting, died Sunday at 12:01 p.m., the Austin Police Department said in a news release that also was confirmed by Lt. Brian Moon. Interim Police Chief Joseph Chacon said the shooting happened around 1:30 a.m. Saturday on a street packed with bars and barricaded off from vehicle traffic.
