Douglasville restaurant owner killed by falling tree during storm

DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. - A driver was killed by a falling tree that crushed his car in Douglasville during Monday morning s violent storm.
Firefighters received a call of an occupant trapped at approximately 10:36 a.m. on Campbellton Street between Woodrow Avenue and Spring Street in Douglasville. When firefighters arrived at the scene, they discovered the driver was trapped inside the vehicle with power lines and a tree on the vehicle. Douglas County Communications Director Rick Martin said. Firefighters had to extricate the driver who we are only identifying as a male at this time until next of kin are notified.

DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. A driver is dead after severe weather caused a tree and power lines to fall on his car in Douglasville late Monday morning, according to the Douglas County officials.
The man was stuck inside when firefighters arrived shortly after 10:30 a.m. on Campbellton Street between Woodrow Avenue and Spring Street, according to county spokesperson Rick Martin.
He said the driver had to be extracted from the car.
At this time, the National Weather Service has not confirmed a tornado touched down in Douglas County, however, a tornado warning was issued for the eastern central part of the county around 10:21 a.m. A severe thunderstorm warning was issued in the area around 10:14 a.m.

DOUGLASVILLE, GA The owner of a popular Douglasville restaurant has been identified as the man killed Monday when a tree fell on his SUV as a tornado swept the area.
WSB-TV in Atlanta is reporting that Scott Hudson, 60, owner of Hudson s Hickory House in Douglasville, died in the storm. Friends and employees confirmed his identity Monday to the Atlanta news station.
