Patricia Joan Hillman Bender, 89, of Johnstown, died April 25, 2021, at the Mountain Valley Hospice. Pat was born in the town of Johnstown to Dorothy (Crowter) Hillman and Stewart Hillman Sr. on July 19, 1931. Dorothy later married Peter Cirillo Sr., who raised Patricia as his own. Patricia Hillman married John Bender on June 6, 1953, at St. Patrick’s Church in Johnstown, NY. They were happily married for over 65 years. Her husband predeceased her in 2018.
Patricia will be missed by many. Survivors include her three children: sons, Gary Michael Bender and his wife Michelle, John Peter Bender and his wife Mary; daughter, Vicki Marie Cardoza and her husband Keith; her nine grandchildren, Darrick Bender (Maneerat), Douglas Bender (Catherine), Crystal Rees (Stephen), Zachariah Bender (Victoria), Rebecca Bender, Riley Bender, Ian Bender, Serenity Giles and Tyler Giles; her seven great-grandchildren, Alicia, Bethany, Samuel, Isabella, Jesse, Griffin, Elliot; and many niece
