[ imitates trumpet playing ] and we wanted to thank america s number-one motorcycle insurer
house republicans are ramping up their investigations of the border. there have been 300,000 illegal border crossings since late last year. bill: extraordinary number. we ll follow it. dana: let s bring in yuma, arizona mayor doug nichols. you have a lot on your plate and the administration will see what they can do i guess tonight in the state of the union address. what would you like to hear from them or want them to hear from you? i would love to hear from the president tonight that they are really going to step in and own this situation instead of trying to work with the cities on the front end as far as releases and such. but at the end of the day we need a real strong change of direction. we ve seen a little bit, which has been great. the adding three more countries to the immediate process list. and some of the other work being done in central america. but that s just the tip of the iceberg. it needs to be a lot more and i would love to hear the president
border. dana: we have been very interested in your situation at the yuma regional medical center, the hospital there. can you tell me the situation at that hospital now and how that is affecting citizens and residents of your city? that situation peaked about 4 or 5 months ago. it has not let off with the let off of some of the crossing activity. we re down about 300 to 500 people a day now. so that s also reduced the demand on the hospital. but this is the time of year which we have an extra 100,000 people in our community from the winter visitors to our ag laborers. that hospital is busy this time of year, too. so right now it s in a better spot but it could be days away from being in a disastrous spot again. dana: no way to run a hospital indeed. i know you have your hands full. mayor, thank you for joining us today. appreciate it. thank you, dana. bill: 300 to 400 a day doesn t sound great, right?
