The Daily Herald The Maury County Commission Budget committee is moving forward with a budget amendment that aims to better manage the county’s waste. The total waste produced by the region’s population has increased between 6% and 8% each year, according to calculations from the local solid waste department. The resolution amends a previously considered resolution that would allow additions to the current transfer station facility. The proposal includes adding a compactor, obtaining the services of a grinder and moving the Chickasaw Trace convenience center to the new transfer station location on New Highway 7. The resolution was unanimously approved by the committee during its monthly meeting on Monday and will require approval by the full commission later this month.
