this is a police action, right? and so has the president made that argument? i mean, he said that our national security sat risk. he hasn t said how. right. exactly. i think that he is using congress to get political cover, in my opinion, for this action. but that he does in fact have the authority to do it, as long as it s not war. and that s what the argument will be about, is this war or is it not war? is it a police action. yeah, and you know, doug, if you try to help the president along here, which takes quite a bit of work, you can say, well, let me help you out, mr. president. the national security interest is that chemical weapons are in syria could work your way into enemy hands. right. and could be used against americans. somebody needs to help him out a little bit here. why don t you help him? i was discussing this with a friend and colleague of mine who is a lawyer, and we were saying that, you know, how do you get over the attenuation of it becoming a threat or a
that s exactly why he does have the authority to make this decision to move forward without congressional approval. and so, doug, and you had to laugh, because you saw the vice president, joe biden, behind the president s desk, literally standing behind the president. yes. in the rose garden. i mean, the same vice president who said that if george bush did the same thing, that he would move for impeachment. right. and yet there he is standing behind the guy who says i have the power to do this. well, the segue obviously is that you can move very quickly from the legal to the political. on its best way, it s the president of the united states wanting to show a unity between, you know, the executive and the legislative branches. on its worst day, it s kind of spreading the political risk around. but it s hypocritical for biden to stand there behind the president who said it s an impeachable offense to do this. right. and now he is standing behind
megyn: well, kelly s court is back in session. on the docket today, rejected for being a republican. teresa wagner, university of iowa law school class of 1993, fast forward 13 years when she applies for a teaching job at her alma mater. but wagner doesn t get it, apparently, because of her politics. she would have been just the third conservative faculty member at the school, but the associate dean said in the letter or, quote, some people may be opposed to teresa s serving in any role in part because they so despise her politics and especially her activism about it. now she is suing in the eighth circuit court of appeals, and the way has been paved for it to proceed. arthur die call the la and doug byrnes, all right, bias, she ghost ahead and files this lawsuit saying you can t deny me employment at a law school because of my politics, because you are all democrats and i m a republican. is she right, doug?
