McLaughlin made back-to-back first appearances – Wednesday and Thursday – in front of County Judge Sarah Ritterhoff Williams via close circuit television. The judge told McLaughlin on Thursday that the charge of robbery with a firearm is a first-degree felony punishable by life in prison.
The judge set McLaughlin s bond at $50,000. McLaughlin has a similar bail set for the other charge. The judge told him if he posts bond, he s not allowed to have any firearms or ammunition.
Marion County man charged in robbery at Citgo convenience store
Marion County Sheriff s Office deputies arrested a man suspected of robbing a convenience store on Tuesday.
Dory Ryan McLaughlin was spotted by Deputy L. Mendoza trying to enter a residence in the 6900 block of Southwest 85th Place not long after the hold up at the Citgo gas station at 6701 SW State Road 200.
Mendoza apprehended McLaughlin. Inside McLaughlin s car was a hooded sweatshirt similar to one the robber was wearing in surveillance video at the store.
McLaughlin was taken to the MCSO for an interview with Detectives Ann-Marie Larocque and Brent Castellano. McLaughlin initially denied being at the store or committing the robbery, but later reportedly told the detectives that he drove to the store and robbed the business.
