Food truck in Muscoda sparks much discussion at village board meeting Business owners ask for more regulation
MUSCODA - Food truck controversy struck the Muscoda Village Board meeting for the month of April, last Tuesday, April 13.
“I found his business to be parasitic,” stated Dan Behrens, owner of Honkers and Sportsman’s Bar and Grill, during his appearance before the board. “He moves into small towns with little businesses, takes what he can and leaves.”
Behrens came before the board to take issue with Jose’s Authentic Mexican Restaurant’s Food Truck, which most recently visited Muscoda on Friday, April 9. The Truck was set up on the street near the Railroad Park Gazebo, and according to their Facebook Post, worked with Copper Lounge where “Jose’s Famous Margaritas” were served.

Mushroom Festival Committee meets to make plans amid the pandemic In Muscoda
MUSCODA - The news is out that the village of Muscoda will in fact be hosting their annual Morel Mushroom Festival. The event is planned for one day only this year and is intended to “bridge the gap” between the time of COVID and more normal years to come.
The Mushroom Festival Committee met last Tuesday, March 2 to discuss the festival activities.
The committee consists of Village Trustee Allen Blood (absent from this meeting) Village President Dorothy Hackl, Village Trustee Sanford Miller and Linda Post, who was named Chairperson for the committee. Also in attendance were Director of Public Works Troy Wardell, Dave Wiederholt representing the Fire Department, and Police Chief Bill Scramm, as well as Village Clerk Cinda Johnson.
Village board approves service window Muscoda
MUSCODA - A mostly masked Muscoda Village board met in person last Monday to discuss various topics during their monthly meeting.
The topic of the outlets and light fixtures at the library was brought up once again. It was shared with the library by Village Director of Public Works Troy Wardell that he was told there was concerns about certain outlets not being up to code.
“We are two, three years into this library and now they’re telling us they’re not up to code?” Village president Dorothy Hackle questioned.
It was agreed, that they would call for a second opinion and further bids on the work to clarify what is needed and costs.
