Dorothy Cotton Jubilee Singers Join the National Park Service and the City of Auburn in welcoming the Dorothy Cotton Jubilee Singers. In honor of the Harriet Tubman's bicentennial we have invited this special group to perform for the Auburn community near her final resting place. The Dorothy Cotton Jubilee Singers of Ithaca College are dedicated to preserving the formal, concert-style "Negro Spiritual," including songs from Tubman's lifetime and familiar to her as a conductor on the Underground Railroad. The performance includes the meaning and history of these songs to enslaved Africans of the era and their enduring significance to struggle for racial justice.
