Heavy rainstorm wreaks havoc in Ilorin - Daily Post Nigeria

Daily Post Nigeria Published The rainstorm which lasted less than one hour, blew off most buildings’ rooftops. It also brought about the collapse of most buildings in the community. Electric poles were not spared thereby disrupting power supply to most parts of the community. DAILY POST reports that the less than one hour rainstorm, which occurred between 4.30 and 5.30p.m was the first of its kind in the history of the community. Our correspondent, whose residential quarters was affected by the natural disaster, reports that many houses were also affected by the rainstorm with sympathisers visiting the affected victims of the disaster to console them.

One remanded in prison, three in police net for attacking EEDC personnel

Edo families drag IGP, others to court over alleged illegal detention

Daily Post Nigeria Published The families of Taiwo Omorede and Bright Osagiede of Egbaen community, Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State have instituted a suit against the Nigerian Police, the Inspector-General of Police and two police personnel of the IGP Monitoring Unit; Aminu Sokoto, a DSP and A. Elema, an ACP over alleged illegal detention of their breadwinners since March 20, 2021. The families said the detainees have been denied bail, neither have they been charged to court for any offence. In a suit marked 3/65m/2021 and 3/64m/2021, the two families accused the police of infringing on their fundamental human rights of personal liberty and dignity of human person as guaranteed under the Nigeria’s Constitution.
